Lee on Screen? Watch ‘Legend of Bruce Lee’ TrailerOctober 15, 2007![]() The 40-part television series depicting the life of martial arts legend Bruce Lee and being produced by China's national broadcaster, China Central Television (CCTV), had incited a great deal of discussion about whether it will live up to the high expectations of portraying Lee and his extraordinary abilities on screen. Finally, we have a glimpse into what The Legend of Bruce Lee will look like: A six-minute long trailer for the series is now online. The series is filmed in Mandarin but dubbed in English for English speaking audiences. (Watch trailer via link below.) Bruce Lee's daughter, Shannon Lee, is listed as one of the executive producers. The Chinese 'Legend of Bruce Lee' site has continued updates (in Chinese) and a large number of images, including the ones below, from the production.
SERIES BACKGROUND
The Legend of Bruce Lee began filming in Hong Kong and the US back in April of this year and is budgeted at $6.4 million. Hong Kong actor Chan Kwok-Kwan (pictured at right) plays Lee in the series. He is most known for his roles in Kung Fu Hustle and Shaolin Soccer. Bruce Lee made 46 kung fu movies. He died at age 32 in 1973, while starring and directing the movie Game of Death in Hong Kong. The TV series is being produced with an international audience in mind and includes a Western cast including international martial artists Mark Dacascos, Michael Jai White, Ray Park, and Gary Daniels.
